A collection of many continuous stainless steel fibers is called TOW. Yarn or sewing thread with a suitable twist is added to TOW to create filament yarn. Metal fiber offers the flexibility of conventional organic fibers while maintaining the characteristics of metals (heat resistance, corrosion resistance, conductivity, etc.).
It is used for electrostatic-related applications such as sewing machine thread, FRP and FRM reinforcement, packing material, heating elements, and antistatic brushes. Naslon® is a registered trademark of Nippon Seisen Co., Ltd.
